Hofgut Falkenstein is Erich Weber's estate in the Saar subzone of the Mosel. Krettnacher Altenberg is 50-60 year old vines in mostly gray slate and quartz. Spontaneous fermentation and aging for several months on the lees, both in very old 1000-liter barrels before bottling in the spring months. Spätlese ripeness and Trocken dryness - i.e., rich and bone dry. 11% alcohol.
