2023 Unturned Stone The Blush White Zin Rose - Dry Creek Valley
Regular price $24.00
In Stock: 20
If you are of a certain age and a certain tenure in California, you remember the era of blush wines: In the 1980s it seemed that no California party or hot tub soak was complete without a well-chilled bottle of “White Zinfandel” - a rosé made from zinfandel that was more blushing pink than white. This wine nods to and winks at that era and beverage, but reimagines it as Real Wine. Erin Mitchell and Randy Czech organically farm vineyards in Sonoma and Mendocino and practice non-interventionist winemaking, using “intuition, pragmatism, and a dash of whimsy” in the cellar. The Blush conjures cherry Lifesavers, but with a pleasing herbal/bitter twist. (Admit it: When you were a kid, the cherry-flavored cough drops were always more intriguing than the Lifesavers!) Bone dry and ready to enliven any deck party, hot tub, or ramen bowl. 12.5% alcohol.
2023 ‘The Blush’ Adel's Vineyard White Zinfandel, Dry Creek Valley
The Blush is made from Zinfandel that grown at Adel’s Vineyard outside of Healdsburg at the entrance to Dry Creek Valley. We took over the farming here in 2018 and do all the work by hand. The wine is whole-cluster pressed, fermented and aged in neutral puncheon and barrel, and gets a few gallons of red wine to enhance fruit character and to provide its Barbie-Pink color.
Total additions: 10 ppm sulfur. Alcohol 12.5%
