Ryan Stirm (Stirm Wines) and Jehan Hakimian (jack of all wine trades in the Bay Area and beyond) grow and make wines together as Los Chuchaquis. The name is slang of Quechua origin for “the drunken ones”. '¡Súper Bueno!' is a pét-nat rosé of sangiovese from Gimelli Vineyard in Cienega Valley (between Hollister and San Benito). It’s organically farmed, with spontaneous fermentation finishing in the bottle to create the fizz. There are no additions, including sulfites, and no fining or filtration (ØØ). The wine looks like farm-fresh grapefruit juice, with some bubbles and naturally-occurring sediment. And it has a bit of that grapefruit pithiness, along with delicate red fruits and discrete spiciness. It makes a super-refreshing (and Súper Bueno) pool-side or grill-side aperitivo, or a wind-down (and wine down) at the end of a long meal. In between, you could drink it with everything coming off the grill or a paella.
