Vignedimare ("vineyards of the sea") is a project of Antonio Caravaglio in the Aeolian Islands of Sicily, a volcanic archipelago north of Mount Etna and mainland Sicily.
Salina, where Antonio has his winery and most of his vineyards, is one of those islands. Farming is certified organic. 'Abissale' is 100% malvasia di Lipari grown on volcanic silt and clay. It aged in 500-liter barrels for 18 months. The wine is floral and salty, with some texture. This is volcanic island wine
