Vignedimare ("vineyards of the sea") is a project of Antonio Caravaglio in the Aeolian Islands of Sicily, a string of volcanic islands north of Mount Etna and mainland Sicily.
Salina is one of those islands. Soils are volcanic sand, and farming is certified organic. Salina Rosso is corinto nero, nerello mascalese, and other local red varieties. The wan has saturated red fruits and dark, volcanic minerality. It's both flavorful and sophisticated.
