This is a fresh red wine from the Greek Peloponnese (the large almost-an-island just west of Athens), made from the rare, über-local variety mavro kalavritino. It’s dark-fruited and a little earthy, but still light on its feet and low in tannin. Farming is certified organic and the grapes are foot-tread. Try it with mushroom dishes or truffled cheeses.
