2021 Wetzer Soproni Pinot Noir Rosé - Bolondok Napja

Regular price $27.00

In Stock: 1

Péter Wetzer organically farms 2.5 hectares in the appellation of Sopron in northwest Hungary, right next to the border with Austria. He has become one of our favorite Hungarian producers, and not just because of the cool, calligraphied labels! This wine is a rare treat that importer Eric Danch was able to bring a few cases of to California. It sees short maceration and a year in barrel. It’s a deeper-hued rosé with deep cherry aromas and flinty minerality. In the mouth, there’s juicy fruit with cleansing acidity; “precise hedonism” might be its motto. It’s the perfect Bay Area fall wine, dancing between rosé and light red. Drink it on a warm or a cool day, with all things grilled or anything spicy, including Hungarian paprika and Mexican / New Mexican red chile.
