This is an extremely rare and disappearing grape variety, only planted in the vineyards of Estremadura and La Mancha. Vineyards are expecting organic certification in 2023. Fermentation is spontaneous, and sulfur (at bottling) is quite low, around 70ppm. The resulting wine is delicious: savory and juicy with a similar berryish tang as the Malbec but more earth tones and lingering flavors.
