Bodegas Frontonio is Fernando Mora and Mario López’s “garage winery” in Valdejalón, just west of Zaragoza, in the region of Aragon (northeast Spain). The specialty here is old vine garnacha, and 'Telescópico' is two versions of that - garnacha and garnacha peluda - plus some mazuela (a.k.a. cariñena or carignan). So think of it as a garnacha salad. The flavors are saturated red and black fruits, combining density and lift, plus earth and spice. There’s good acidity and low tannin. This is a generous and lively red that plays well with meaty or mushroomy tacos, barbecue, or binge watching Money Heist. It is even better after 20-30 minutes in the fridge.
