2018 Domaine de L'Ecu VDF - Virtus Cabernet Sauvignon

Domaine de L'Ecu in Muscadet Sèvre & Maine was created by Guy Bossard in 1972 and has been run by Fred Niger since 2012. Farming is certified organic and certified biodynamic. "Virtus" is Cabernet Sauvignon from old vines growing in granite soils in Muscadet. It's aged for two years in underground concrete vats. This is an interesting, outside-the-box Cabernet Sauvignon. You can taste the granite / Muscadet soils. It's fresh and low in alcohol (11%), but with the complexity of agining in vta and in the bottle.
