Le Fioraie ("the flower-sellers") is 90% Sangiovese + 10% Canaiolo, Ciliegiolo, and Colorino from Castellina-in-Chianti. Vineyards are a mix of classic alberese (sandstone) and galestro (limestone marl) Chianti Classico soils, at altitudes between 380 and 480 meters above sea level. Spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel with 3-1/2 weeks of maceration. Aging is in a combination of concrete tanks and previously used wooden casks - mainly 25-hectoliter Slavonian oak, with some 500-liter French oak employed as well.
