Brothers Tamás and Gábor Kasnyik, along with Gábor’s wife, Virág, are natural wine producers in the rugged hills of southern Slovakia, between the capital of Bratislava and Hungary. Certified organic farming. This wine is a skin-macerated Grüner Veltliner (or Veltlín in Slovak). Indigenous fermentation on the skins in open vats for just over two weeks and aging on the lees in oak barrels for 12 months. Unfiltered and proud of it. 13% alcohol. From importer Eric Danch: "The 2019 Veltín is like a creamsicle without the sugar – dense without being heavy and covered with a refreshing and spicy crust. It doesn’t lose sight of the grape by way of process either."
