Cahors, in Southwest France, is the original Malbec. Château La Coustarelle's "Tradition" bottling is 80% Malbec and 20% Merlot. The grapes ferment and age for a period in stainless steel tanks, after which the wine spends 18 months in demi-muid barrels. Black fruits and medium body, with supple tannins. Great quality-price ratio.
