Cave des Onze Communes is a high-quality cooperative in the heart of the Valle d’Aosta. 60 hectares are divided among 200 growers in 11 adjacent communes around the village of Aymavilles, where the winery is located. These micro-vineyards (less than a third of a hectare per grower on average!) range from 600 to 900 meters altitude (2,000-3,000 feet). Soils are sandy and silty, with glacial deposits. All wines are fermented and aged in stainless steel. Fumin is arguably the Valle d’Aosta’s most noble indigenous red variety, making darker-fruited, slightly herbal wines that still maintain their Alpine freshness.
