2018 Goyo Garcia Georgieva Ribeira del Duero Blanco

Regular price $45.00

Goyo García Viadero and and his wife Diana Semova Georgieva grow and make vibrantly traditional wines in the Ribera del Duero, in north-central Spain. Their García Georgieva Blanco is in fact more of a naranja (orange) wine, made from organically farmed 80% albillo mayor and 20% malvasia. The 100+ year old bush-trained vines grow at 900 meters in white sand studded with river stones. The wine naturally ferments in stainless steel with about three weeks of skin contact and then spends half a year on the fine lees in the same vat before being bottled without fining, filtration, or added SO2. 13.5% alcohol. It’s floral (orange blossoms!), savory, and mineral all at once. A substantial white like this benefits from decanting and has enough grip to go with richer fish dishes, pork, game birds, or a classic paella.
