2020 Caves de Donnas Vallee d'Aoste - Barmet Nebbiolo

Caves de Donnas is a high-quality co-op at the beginning of the Valle d’Aosta, just across the border from Piemonte (and Carema). 20 growers farm 23 hectares. Vineyards are planted on terraces carved into impossibly steep granite cliffs at 400-500 meters of altitude (1,300-1,700 feet). The main variety is Picotendro, a local biotype of Nebbiolo. This wine is 100% Picotendro (Nebbiolo) fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks.
