Jérôme Galeyrand farms 5 hectares in the Côte de Nuits, with his winery in Gevrey-Chambertin. Viticulture is organic for 70% of the vineyards and sustainable for 30%, with no pesticides. 'Orane' is 100% Chardonnay from clay-limestone parcels in Brochon, Flagey-Echezeaux, and Gilly-les-Citeaux. The wine is whole-cluster pressed, ferments with indigenous yeast, and ages for 12 months in older barrels.
This more in common with old school winemaking rather than the more extracted style. Precise, mineral, traditional aromatics and excellent flavor. Highly recommended!
