2019 Jerome Galeyrand Cotes de Nuits Villages - Les Retraits

Jérôme Galeyrand farms 5 hectares in the Côte de Nuits, with his winery in Gevrey-Chambertin. Viticulture is organic for 70% of the vineyards and sustainable for 30%, with no pesticides. 'Les Retraits' is from vines planted in 1925 and 1932 in Nuits-Saint-Georges, next to the 1er cru Clos de la Maréchale. The wine ferments with indigenous yeast and about 25-30% whole-clusters; it ages for 16 months in barrel (maximum 20% new). Minimal SO2 added.
