2023 Grand Montmirail Muscat Beaumes de Venise half bottle (375ml)

Muscat à Petits Grains from hillside vines. Fermentation begins with their indigenous yeasts. When the must reaches about 9% alcohol, fermentation is muted with the addition of neutral alcohol, which prevents the yeasts from working. The result is a noticeably sweet but not syrupy wine with aromas and flavors of tropical fruits, stone fruits, and orange. Unlike some sweet wines from the Beaumes de Venise appellation, this version is light on its feet and works well as either an aperitif or a dessert wine, especially with fruit-based deserts.
