2022 Nicolas Boudeau Beaujolais-Villages - Esprit Nature

Nicolas Boudeau and his wife Michelle run this estate in Beaujolais. 'Esprit Nature' is natural Beaujolais from an organically-farmed, 40-year-old plot called Vernay in Brouilly. Soils are granite. Fermentation in stainless steel is with 50% whole clusters and one week of semi-carbonic maceration. Élevage likewise is in stainless steel. There are no additions, including of sulfites (ØØ). This is refreshing, savory Beaujolais (not too carbonic-y) - fully natural, fully clean, and excellent quality for the price.
