Zantho is a certified sustainable winery project from Austrians Josef Umathum and Wolfgang Peck. The vineyards are home to a rare genus of lizard depicted on the label. The blaufränkisch is a supple, juicy, dark-fruited Austrian red that's still light on its feet (and just 13% alcohol). There's a touch of warm spices, minerality, and a hint of (pleasing) bitterness in the fruit. Finished with a glass stopper rather than cork!
