Kirchensteig is the cru (Erste Lage). Granitic soils. Organic and biodynamic farming. Slowly pressed whole bunches, fermented in stainless steel and aged for 2 years on the lees. There's a leanness here that's perhaps more reminiscent of Pfalz Trocken Riesling than of Austria. Beautiful nose and nice development in the bottle. Plenty of mineral cut and just a hint of petrol. 12.3% alcohol; 6.1 g/L R.S.
