2023 Milos Rose (Plavac Mali) - Stagnum

Regular price $29.00

In Stock: 24

Frano Miloš’s family has lived and made wine in the Croatian village of Mali Ston, just up the coast from Dubrovnik, for over 500 years. He is prone to aphorisms like, “a man can truly reaffirm himself in his surroundings by continuously evolving and trying to create a better and nicer world.” And, he organically grows and makes amazing wines.
Miloš Plavac is 100% plavac mali - Croatia’s most important red variety - from pre-phylloxera vines growing in sandy soil over limestone. The wine aged for two years in large, old Slavonian oak barrels and several more years in bottle before release. It is aromatically intense, dark-fruited and yet not heavy, with tannins that are neither shy nor overly aggressive. Importer Eric Danch calls out “a distinctive note of black tea on the nose, and on the palate a savory saltiness that make it spectacular with a wide range of cuisine, from Korean banchan to fresh-grilled sardines.”
